Gekidan Nishiki is a youthful, up-and-coming Taishu Engeki theatre group led by Hayato Nishiki.

Chairperson Kamui Ryuko began performing at the age of 6 years old, led by his father Nishiki Hayato. At the age of 12, Ryuko was given the title of Young Leader. He specializes in Kabuki and Sobu dances, and these are considered the Troupe’s special performances. Kamui Ryuko is active beyond Taishu Engeki, appearing as a guest character in various television dramas and musicals. In May 2022, Ryuko even made his debut CD titled “Boku Nari no Ai no Katachi” (僕なりの愛のカタチ)

Gekidan Nishiki is a large and young group by Japanese Taishu Engeki standards, having a total of 15 members (2 young children and 1 adult member not pictured below). They have a very promising future, follow their story along when they join us at the Mokubakan in August, 2026.
