*The program will start at 1:30/7 pm. The Show itself will start later. Since one of the unique aspects of Taishu Engeki is that the performance changes completely each day, the show itself may occasionally start up to 15 minutes earlier or later.

This ticket includes admission to the up to 90-minute Taishū Engeki cabaret show. There is NO introduction/English explanation by our guides — simply take your seat and experience the lively atmosphere, music, dance, costumes, and unique style of local Japanese theater for yourself.
Perfect for those already familiar with Taishū Engeki, or adventurous first-timers who want to jump straight in and are open to something truly unique.

This ticket includes the complete Taishū Engeki program: a drama performance followed by a lively cabaret show featuring music, dance, and dazzling costumes. Experience the different sides of this unique Japanese local theater tradition in one visit: from heartfelt storytelling to spectacular stage performances.
A great choice for anyone who wants to experience the full atmosphere and variety of Taishū Engeki.
Important information for this Ticket option:
- This Ticket option is the only one that gives you access to the drama play as well.
- The Drama play is entirely in Japanese*
- Because performances change daily, there is no official printed synopsis for each play. Instead, our staff will introduce today’s general theme before the performance begins.
- Please be aware that drama plays may include: culturally specific customs, fake blood, gore, and violence
*The Cabaret Show usually doesn’t include spoken dialogue.

Taishū Engeki Show & Workshop
Step Into the World of Japanese Stage Performance
Experience the excitement of a live Taishū Engeki show and try becoming a performer yourself with a hands-on workshop at Mokubakan Theater in Asakusa. Dress in a kimono, learn the basics of samurai swordplay, and try traditional stage movements with a folding fan and sword, taught by a professional performer. Finish the experience with a commemorative photo in your kimono.
Please note: Workshop bookings should generally be requested at least 4 weeks in advance. A minimum of 5 participants is required. For smaller groups, the equivalent participation fee for 5 people applies.
General fee: ¥ 13,200* per person
*This workshop is further customizable by additional requests, such as stage make up, conducting the workshop on stage, etc. Please note that further customization request may affect the price.
